Archbishop Mark has a message for you

On Saturday 16 December, I’ll be at St John’s Cathedral for the installation of the new Anglican Archbishop Jeremy Greaves. He will succeed Archbishop Phillip Aspinall, a wise and genial colleague who retired after more than twenty years in the role, even though he’s still only in his mid-sixties. Jeremy is barely in his mid-fifties, though he looks younger. He’s originally from Adelaide, worked for a time in the Northern Territory and has been an Assistant Bishop of Brisbane for some years. Through those years I’ve come to know him, and I look forward to working with him for the sake of the Gospel. The days of the old sectarianism are gone. All the Churches are under pressure, which means that we have to do together whatever we can. There are some things we cannot (yet) do together, but there is much that we can. So I look forward to welcoming Jeremy to his new role and working closely with him in the time that remains to me as Archbishop.
